Are these the same as the 6LE seats / Yonaka Ronin?

There are a few different companies that make the same seats with different brand names. They are generic ebay seats. 6LE's seats were the same generic ones on ebay, its just that supposedly he had more options/configs on them. If you search threads on here, you'll see identical ones that were from different vendors on ebay.

Chinese knockoffs with different names stitched into them. Since Corbeau changed the LG1 this year you can expect the style on those to change in about 2 years to stay fairly current.

Mark claimed that Yonaka was making adjustments to the position of the seat holes for him so that the seat could sit lower with his brackets. Then his competitor claimed that he emailed Yonaka and that Yonaka didn't make any modifications to their seats prior to shipping.

Thread is here if you feel like being entertained: https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...questions.html

An earlier thread has Mark explaining how even with the OEM seat electronic bracket/slider, the driver side still sits up 2 inches. He has a nice write up on how to use the stock brackets with the Chinese seats here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...ory-rails.html

So it appears that the best solution would be to buy a set without brackets and do the modification with a piece of steel like what Mark originally did in the thread above, but use v6 non power seat bracket if you are 6'1 and taller so that the extra 2 inches caused by the power seat bracket doesn't cause your head to it the roof.

Not sure how drilling holes in a different location on the seat and using 6LE seat brackets with his 6LE seats with the aftermarket sliders is going to result in the seat sitting lower than the Chinese seat with OEM bracket/slider like he originally claimed. What is certain is that the ebay brackets both make the seat sit too high.

More discussion on it:

All this being said, looks like DPTmotorsport has the ones in real leather but only available in red for $350
Sickspeed has them in real black leather but with red diamond stitching that I don't care for $600
NRG only has them in cloth or swede

mad racing, arizen, yonaka.... none of them distribute these seats any longer. Best bet if you want the ones with real black leather that look like the 6LE seats is to wait for DPTmotorsport to restock them for $350 a set in real black leather.

Magg performance has them for $650 but if they were sourcing from Yonaka the obviously had to switch to the main supplier in China that is providing these seats to all these other companies.

Also for the seat belt loop, you can source a leather guitar neck strap with a button on ebay for $2

I have 6LE seats in my 2001 SS, and they are only ok.

First off, the seats that arrived looked a bit different what you have here, and on their website. Specifically, the lever adjustment is a lever on mine, but was a round **** on their site. My side bolsters do not come up as high as advertised either. Lastly, these is no indention in the black plastic area near the headrest, as seen here. I was going to add my own logo in this area, but no specific indention is in the set of seats I have. Now onto the install. They didn't send all the proper hardware. I had to have them ship me more parts just to assemble the seats to the bracket. I went ahead and bought their brackets and the alignment was horrible. I had to end up grinding off the powercoat, enlarge the holes, bend back some tabs, and reinstall. To date, this has been my least favorite modification, and my biggest hassle in terms of getting parts to fit. Would rate a 3/10. I'm a little shocked everyone else has/was so happy with 6LE parts, as this task took about 4x longer than it should have and I didn't feel the moderate quality was worth the high price.

The seats look nice and feel soft yet firm when you first sit in them, but after 90 minutes +, your *** starts to hurt. Way more than the factory seats did.

I'll also add that the seats don't fit me that well. When I bought the car in 2008, I weight about 185 lbs. Working out over the years I have gained a lot in my back and shoulder width and now weigh 225-230. The 6LE seats don't allow me to sit all the way back without it causing my shoulders to round forward. This was never an issue with the stock camaro seats. I kept my old seats and have considered getting them redone and installing them.

My wife hates the 6LE seats and has asked me to out the old ones back in.

Your results may vary.

I will say, they do hold me in place well when I am driving mountain roads, and they do look good. I use stock seatbelts and a Wolfe 5 point roolbar and the seats fit just right.

I hate the fact I lost my power seats when I did install. My daily driver has ventilated & heated seats, with full power and adjustable lumber. Getting in the camaro with only a manual seat and no adjusability makes you appreciate the newer seat designs. My daily I can drive 4 hours in comdort at a time. 90 minutes in 6LE seats and I need a break.
