GM 10422746 Dash Pad Color 1997 - 1999

GM 10422746 Dash Pad Color 1997 - 1999 Has anyone purchased a new, OEM dash pad GM 10422746 recently? If so, what color was it?
This is the correct part # for all 1997 – 1999 camaros and firebirds, AFAIK. It was the part # I used November 2006 when I purchased a replacement OEM pad from GMPartsDirect for my 1998 Trans Am. My interior trim RPO is 14I, which is “INTERIOR TRIM, LT GRAY (I) (92)”. Interior is listed on my window sticker as “Trim, Dark Pewter Leather”. The pad I received in Winter 2006 matched my original pad in color.
Jim Butler Chevrolet has sold this pad (GM 10422746) on eBay for at least a couple years, but always listed the color as “BLACK / EBONY”. I finally contacted the dealership through eBay asking for clarification as I am once again mulling options for replacement or repair of my cracked dash pad. I explained that the color and part number were an apparent mismatch and mentioned a few other things. This is dealership’s reply.

I agree in what your saying about that p/n originally being gray/graphite. I have ran into this many times through the years and gm states they only make this in black now.
