Default Mirror trim retainers

Does anyone know where to source the plastic retainers on the back of the mirror trim bezel? (the black triangle piece inside the car). They look like a double ended Christmas tree fastener but I can't find a replacement.

I had to google image search that.

Are you talking about the little plastic clips in the bottom right of this pic?

I've never seen those before. Mine are only held in with that one screw in the middle and have been that way since leaving the factory.

After more searching, I found them in this door panel removal instructions too:

I think they're more for alignment, not so much to hold it in place. My Firebird didn't have them (likely lost when someone took it off) but mounted just fine w/ the screw. Hit up a junk yard with a screwdriver, see what's out there?

I believe I have zero or only one on the passenger side of my 98 TA. Seems one or both were broke when I removed that trim piece. However, here is a link to some you may be able to use if you reduce the diameter and length a bit.

ITW Fastex manufactures some smaller double end tree retainers.

Good luck.

Wow! I expected crickets when I posted this. I think they are just for alignment as well. I just thought they might help to keep the triangle piece from cracking.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll keep digging.

I've had my car since new in 2001. I've changed window motors since then. I don't remember ever seeing those pins. I had my door panels off a few weeks ago to change speakers and these pins weren't there on either door. I think you are fine without them.
