Default LED Flasher in F Body

Hey guys, I know this has been covered before but pretty much all the threads are from years ago and the links to parts are no longer working. I'm looking for recommendations for turn signal flashers to use with led front turn signals. I only plan on using led's in the front and not the rear. In old threads there was a brand name "keep it clean" mentioned but the link no longer worked, any idea if these will work?

Thanks

That looks like the one I bought but with a different model number.

The one i bought: FF552NLF
The one in that listing: KICFF552NLF

I don't know the difference. However since KIC = Keep If Clean, it probably is the same unit but a different listing.

For $11, give it a shot. If it doesn't work, return it.

If you are using all LED front turn signals and rear turn signals, you'll need the LED flasher with a ground wire. It's easy to install since there is already a bolt and nut nearby the flasher location.

Wannafbody, are you sure you need the ground if you're just running front LED's?

On Youtube they claim the Sylania 3157 LED's work fine with either Novita's EL-12, or their other non-heavy duty electronic flasher?

There's another brand of electronic flasher mentioned often, I forget the brand.

Why is this? I am running all electronic flashers (both for the turn signals and hazards) and neither have a ground wire and everything works pretty much fine.

Interesting Arsenal!

Right now I have one front turn signal light out. With it out the right turn signal would not flash, but the hazards do with the regular hazard flasher because there's enough load on the hazard flasher, even with the parking light bulb out.

Changing the turn signal flasher to the Novita EL-12 allowed the rear right signal to flash, even though the front bulb is out right now.

Several Youtube videos report the EL-12 works fine, with Sylvania 3157 amber LED's in the front of the car.

With just LED in front, you're ok with a flasher without the ground wire. I did LED front and back and IMO the rear aren't all that much brighter but hopefully run cooler and have less chance of cracking a taillight.

I have LED's all around externally (minus the headlights), and do not run a flasher with a ground wire. Everything works without issue. Why the need for a flasher with a ground?

And is that a known issue? Do these tail lights crack often from heat?

They're like $300-400 a side currently!

That's weird. I've read other people who said the same thing but in my case it wouldn't work. Maybe the bulbs you used had a resistor and draw more power.

Some people have issues with the backup lense falling out and the housings cracking, others don't.

Wanna -- I know that was an issue with some Camaro tail lights.

None of the bulbs in my WS6 have a built-in resistor. Got them off of Amazon. The packaging states that a resistor may be needed. So I am not sure why it isn't necessary for me, but it is for you. I know that the very first LED flasher i bought and installed in my WS6 was back in 2014 or 2015. And then I didn't do the 2nd one for the hazards until last summer. But no ground wire needed for me.

Was the hazards flasher needed because you went all LED?

Yes. As I stated earlier, I have all LED's externally, minus the headlights. All 4 marker lights, tails, reverse lights, front turn signals/DRL's.

The only thing I can think of is my TA is a 2000 and yours is a 2002 and maybe something is different with the wiring.

From what I read you also have to use caution if you add resistors. Some of the resistors get really hot apparently...

That is what I just noticed as well. Could be something related to that.
