Default Surface corrosion clean up

Hello guys. I need some help or some recommendations as to how to approach this. I've had my sitting for a while due to time constraints. I'm just getting back to working on it and hopefully finishing it. The issue I'm having is that a lot of the parts in the car have gotten some surface corrosion and other are just plain dirty. All of these parts have 0 miles on them other than idle time and i would like to restore them, if possible, at all. I appreciate any help in advance.

I removed the intake, DP nitrous system and fuel rails as you can see and sprayed them with degreaser and break cleaner, but I'm still left with those spots on the intake that won't come off.

Some of that will need to be sanded and repainted.

WD40 works great on lightly corroded aluminum parts

otherwise, ur looking at plenty of polish time

Sandpaper and paint is your friend. The salty air will just corrode those aluminum parts again.

The intake being painted plastic, I’m sure some mild detergent (non caustic/non acidic) and a power washer will make it look brand new. Or a scrub brush with a cloth if u don’t have a power washer.

side note: hate seeing this happen to new parts! My garage humidity was at 70% recently so I added a dehumidifier set @40%. Much better for storage.

Wow, did all of this happen sitting inside? Even if it was outside, that's still not what you generally expect to see in the south, but I guess the issue might be your proximity to the saltwater air and overall humidity. I'm used to seeing tons of corrosion on cars that are driven in the winter in my climate, but nothing like that has ever happened to cars that I don't use in the winter (especially ones sitting inside a garage).

But I agree with the others that the intake should be completely cleanable (I'd probably use Simple Green as a detergent). You might want to try this product for the aluminum pieces:

I haven't yet used it myself, but another member posted some incredible results using it on an old stainless steel catback system to clean it up beautifully. The "after" picture was impressive for a used exhaust system. Granted, that was stainless steel, but the product is actually listed for aluminum so it might work well there too. He said, "it took two passes with a nylon scrub brush and done. No metal polish, wire brushing, or anything of that sort." Here's a link to the picture and his other post about the product:
