Default In dire need of a seat recommendation

Hi, I'm 6'9 and need to make some space inside my 2000 f body. I just received a pair of corbeau GTS II seats with a shaved base. I also got the corbeau brackets. My original seats were power w/ leather so I was thinking there's no way these would be taller, but they are. They're also too narrow so if anyone has a recommendation for a wide, low seat for a street car I would love to hear it. Also, will these corbeau brackets work with other brand seats?

Would kirkey seats be much lower? I know they're much more spartan but as long as I fit I'll take it over my head rubbing against the roof.

I went with the Corbeau RRS reclining seats. The seats allow for a 38" waist and do not offer the shaved base option.

When used with the Corbeau brackets, they are super low. I feel like I can barely get my hand under the front of the seat to slide it forward/backward. I gained some additional headroom but I am only 5'11".

As far as the front/back space. I feel like the original power seats allowed for more space front to back. You probably wouldn't gain any space front to back unless you modified their brackets to allow for more movement.

You and I have the same issue I think. I bought the Carbeau Trailcat seats with their brackets. I am 6'3" 230Lbs and initially I found them okay but after about a year I couldn't get over how much higher I was. Had about 1 inch in head clearance but the width was fine. Then there was the seat belt frustration. I pulled out my old seats which were in good condition and rebuilt the foam. Swapped them back in. Waste of some good seats but I simply could not tolerate the previously listed issues.

I'm 6'4" and 300 lbs. and had the same problems. I'm the only person who drives my car, so I was able to lock my seat in one position, I removed all the slides and rails and hard mounted the seat to the floor with a custom bracket and just shims the seat to get an ergonomic / correct seating position for me. I made hole patterns for Pro-Car, Corbeau, and stock. It lowered the seat by about 4" and further back 2 to 3" than factory position (I did add two more holes further back so the seat is bolted to the floor pan by 6 bolts compared to the factory 4 bolts. I do road and track so a tight seat is very important to me.
