Default Upper dash pad

Hey fellas, got an 02 bird that has no upper dash pad at all. Bought it this way, and as I've slowly been fixing things and getting it looking better I'm at the point where it's a top priority because it's hideous. I'm on a bit of a budget and the cheapest I've found a new/like new one is right around $300. I've searched junkyards around me and even gone to a few an hour away, but alas, no luck for this particular part. But, I have seen cheapo $60 dash pad covers on Amazon, but don't want to drop the money if it's not gonna work. Essentially, my question is, can I use these Chinese dash pads if I have nothing to cover? all the frame and insulation(?) is there just no cover piece. Thanks in advance.

I got a KUAFU full replacement aftermarket pad to replace my cracked one. $230 on Amazon right now, but I got it for under $200 on sale last winter. I wasn't about to try to take apart the plastics in the cold though, so this summer sometime I'm going to try installing it and see how it looks. My dash is only cracked but there were so many mixed reviews of those $60 pad covers warping or other stuff I thought I'd try the full thing instead.
I don't know how you'd even use the thin $60 cover without something underneath it to hold it in place.
