Default Por-15 Questions inside

Does the Por-15 burn off of exhaust manifolds like grill paint would or is it a fairly long-lasting finish?
These rusty exhaust manifolds are driving me nuts and I wanted to paint them with something that would last for a little while.
Is the Por-15 what I need to buy? Anyone else use it on exhaust manifolds with success?

Thanks for any and all help guys! I appreciate it...

I haven't put Por 15 on manifolds but I have accedently sprayed it on my exhaust pipes. It held up pretty well. I bet if I get up under the car I could still find it there.

It's my understanding that POR-15 will stand up to high heat. A friend of mine contacted the company and asked a few questions. He's thinking of polishing his exhaust to a nice shine and the coating it in clear POR-15.

The standard POR-15 will work on Mufflers/exhaust tips and pipes if they don't get too hot. But the company sells specific stuff for manifolds. It will withstand 1400 degrees. Here is an toll free no. to getr a free catalogue. 1-800-457-6715
I have used POR-15 on 3 different cars and it's great.
Go to it!

Has anybody actually used the clear por-15? I wonder how it looks, how clear it is, and if it dulls the shine on an item such as polished exhaust pipes like mentioned above.

Hey,
No, but the guy I taked to from the company says it dries extremely clear, leaving shine come through. I'm going to be trying it in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how it does. Be Cool

I've got the Starter Por-15 kit and I have Por-20 the Manifolds and pipes back to the muffler. This is good stuff.POR-20 is the High Heat stuff, comes in silver. Takes awhile to mix, and you can't shake it. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
Good luck

Saw this on a thread. Thought those of you considering the silver might want to see it.

That's my car with the POR-15 on the passenger side. This stuff actually looks worse in person. I can't say how much the UV topcoat would or would not help help.

I also can't really say how well this stuff woudl do at high temps. I would think it woudln't work very well though as it is not advertised as being suitable for that.
