poweder coating costs?
Currently I have chrome zr1's on my camaro, and was wondering something. Can chrome be powdercoated? Also what would a normal cost be for powerdercoating my wheels and leaving the lip chrome/silver?

I don't think that chrome can be powdercoated because of the slick surface... if I remember correctly, you need to have the chrome taken off before the powdercoating. I'm not 100% sure on that so you might want to talk to a powdercoating shop.

I agree chrome probably needs to come off first. If you prep it, the price will be a lot more agreeable. Try BMR Fabrication one of the sponsers for a estimated price, according to their site they do custom powder coat. Good Luck and Post Pics. Might be cool to see.

BMR is money! plus shipping costs.. unless you live by them you're better off finding a local place. chrome can be powdercoated... most powdercoating places sandblast whatever they are going to be powdercoating so that process would take care of that. prices ive see $50-$100 a wheel I dunno about the lip costing more of what not (personally don't like it) I paid $70 a wheel w/o any taxes here in CA

You don't want to blast chrome with too much psi. If you don't know what you're doing, the chrome will lift up. It won't come completely off and you'll have some veins running through the chrome. And when this happens you're gonna have to get it stripped, unless you want a textured finish on your wheels. The powdercoating will adhere better without the chrome.
