Yes, using the claybar makes a big difference... it takes all the crap and impurities right out of the paint.
It's simple to do too, just grab a spray bottle, put a few drops of car wash in it, and fill it with water, and use that as a lubricant between the claybar and the paint.
Should be able to go over the whole car in about 30 minutes, and you'll be suprised how much junk it'll pull out of the paint.

definitely an important step, but don't get it confused with your every time routine... once you claybar you should be good for atleast a month, if not more depending on the conditions. Here in construction land of Detroit, it's easy to get a LOT of grime on the paint of the car.. but in other cases you might not need to do it as much.

Just tear off a small piece of clay at a time. Check it frequently for debris. Kneed and fold as necessary. When there are no clean spots left, trash it and start with another small piece.
