Default Excellent way to clean windows...maybe?

One of my pet peeves is dirty windows, to me an F bod with nice paint, wheels, etc.. looks like *** when the windows are dirty or even have that haze that tends to get on them. It seems like paper towels or lint free rags don't get them perfectly clean at all.

I started using newspapers. I crunch them up and use spray away glass cleaner and use the newspapers to wipe the windows spotless with no film, haze, lint, or anything left behind. The end result is very clean.

Has anyone done this before or had any problems with this at all after doing it for a while?

Yup, I've been using newspapers for three years now. They're really absorbant.

being from South Texas, this is an age-old hispanic trick to clean windows that has been passed down from generation to generation. hahahaa. It works pretty well, but then you get your hands full of newspaper dye. I now use microfiber towels to clean windows and they work GREAT. You can pick up a 5-pack of these in the auto-detail aisle of your local Wal Mart for about 5-6 bucks.

I use 2 MF towels and glass cleaner. One towel to wipe with cleaner of choice and the other to wipe dry. Simple and works wonders.

Coffee Filters? No ****? I've never heard of that before. I've been using newspapers for a while now and they have given me the best result in cleaning the glass and mirrors, I'll have to try the others mentioned and compare.

Has anyone had any problems with the newspapers on tinted glass? Besides the residue on your hands, is there any long term problems associated with this at all?

I like the newspapers because it give a use for them when I'm finished reading them and I hate just throwing them away with few other uses.

I use them around the house to mask off areas that we are paiting (just built a new home up here in Lubbock and doing alot of landscaping and custom/personal touches to the house we're alos into extreme homes and lots of HGTV. Need to have a party to break it in and thought about inviting random strangers off LS1 Tech to make it interesting, of course we're weird like that....)

I hope you all had agreat holiday and appreciate you all taking the time to share your thoughts on this with me.

I've heard of the newspaper trick. Doesn't it leave ink on the glass though? I delivered newspapers for five years, and that ink gets everywhere. It doesn't come out of clothing very well either.

I'll have to try the newspaper trick, never heard of that before. I always used the blue shop paper towels, as they are very much like rags and leave no residue behind.

use a chainsaw, or a hacksaw if the funds are tight.

I've used Newspapers for awhile. I recently had my windows Tinted and they work fine. You should also try Stoners Invisible Glass. I one time shined up my bird and had a homie hit his head while trying to yell outside from in my car. Haha the funny thing was seeing him realize the window wasn't down. The cleaner works that well. Also that's safe on Tint.

My grandmother used to use newspapers years ago...I could never understand how they worked sooo well and never left any ink on the glass!!??!!

Also, Spray-away foaming glass cleaner is the absolute best I've ever used...bar none!

Thumbs up

water, a little bit of window cleaner and newspaper is the way to go. Bums in NYC have been doin' it for years and they're right!

Also, Stoner's Invisible Glass is great for hosing down a window before you use the newspaper.
