Buddy puked in my car Well he turned 21, and ended up puking in my car. Have cleaned it 3 times, got it all the chunks out but the smell remains. What can I use that will get rid of this damn smell. It sucks cause it still has a strong liquor smell and I live on base so everytime I go throuht the gate I have to tell this story and answer a millon questions. Also I have leather seats.

The scent isn't coming from your carpet. Its actually down into the thick wool insulation that underneath the carpet. You may need to pull the carpet up, and yank that out. Hey.. look at it this way, you get some free weight removal.
Change that carpet and you may have to change the seats that were affected also. Just don't leave the smell in the car cause it can get in the vents and then it will never leave. 
Yeah I saw an episode from Myth Busters, where they put several dead pigs in a C4 to see if they could get the smell out and sell the car. They managed to sell the car but the smell stayed. Here's a link to the site, episode 7.

Well I didnt want to take the chance but it was either my car or his fiance's Mustang. Figuring he would never live it down if he did it in her car, I decide to take the chance. Any specfic products you know of?

You need a product that will remove the odor not just mask it.

i must admit i have puked in my Z28 as well. Dont feel like telling the story to make it short-----febreeze 2-3 times a day, open the windows any time possible and use carpet cleaner. Took a good while to get the smell out but it is gone now.
I Would Have To Agree Taking Out The Carpet To See If It Got Past It To The Insulation Foam In The Floorboard If It Did Then Theres The Chance The Smell Will Never Leave. If It Was My Situation I Would Take The Carpet Out And Clean The Spot And Check On The Foam Insulation Under It And Go From There Just Me Opinion Hope It Maybe Helps Good Luck ............
Like ruben said keep those windows open as much as possible. You might call a local car cleaning shop and see what they would charge to clean your carpets. I had mine done on one of my old cars and it was only like $40.

Proper deep suction cleaning with professional carpet cleaning machine. It is true that sometimes you have to change the wool insulator, but in general after cleaning with a machine (with patience) and leaving it in the Sun for a couple of days it goes away.
Is he still your buddy?
