Default Fuel Rail Cover Pics

Does anyone have pics of the back of the fuel rail covers? I need to see how they attach. Any help would be great. Thanks

What's up man? I don't have any pics but I can tell you that they have two C-shaped anchors that grab onto each fuel rail as well as some metallic clips that fit over some of the coils. Once they are on they tend to stay on until you want to remove them. Make sure you get some that have been pre-cut or try a search for some pics of where you need to cut them.

Hey how is that car doing? When you going to come back and hang out with us again at hooters?

I was just cruious because I was looking at some carbon fiber fuel rail covers but they don't look like they attach anywhere so it looks like I would need a set of fuel rail covers and the carbon fiber ones would attach on top of them. I'm going to have to look around some more. I was planning on getting a set of fuel rail covers and doing a flame paint job on them but I'm still trying to decided if I want to do that or not. I'm going to order a set and play around with them some

Yer right, most of the carbon fiber ones don't include any c-clips or anything to use to snap them on like the GM OE covers.

Get the GM covers, especially for the first time around if you simply want to play around with them, to try different things.

Remove the red Corvette text, fill with your favorite filler, sand, paint, ...

And use the "Search" function up there on the right, you'll find a ton of info here on the board.

One more thing, I've seen where some people have epoxied in place, some of those c-clips that you typically use on the wall to hold broom handles & such, on the underside of the carbon fiber ones to attach to the fuel rail cover.

Good Luck!

If you've got the TCS, then there are enough wires to hold the rear of the passenger-side FRC into place with or without any clips.

well I just ordered a set of fuel rail covers, I also ordered the carbon fiber ones too. I might just use the clips off of the GM ones for the cf ones. I'll update you all on how it works out

I'll try to go up to DFW next summer and I'll definetely hang out with you guys. I had so much fun at the GTG at the Arlington Hooters in June. Post some pics of your FRC project when it's all done.

Got a question, I got a set from afterthoughts and they're on right but the drivers side seems to stay up a good inch above the other! I've heard this is common! True? Also I think I'll get a B&M STB because the slp doesn't fit. Let me know if you want it. Also, be careful installing, they are easy to scratch and rub.

Hmm I haven't heard that they stay up higher on one side. I looked at the afterthoughts auto ones and really liked them but I thought they were too expensive. They do look nice but I wanted to try to save some cash and do something myself

Did you do all the prep work necessary in the instructions?!?
Like removing the throttle cable bracket from the manifold, ..., The wiring clipped on the top of the fuel rail, etc., etc, ...

You can't just slip them in place without some preparation, ...

You probably have them on by now. However here are some photos.

Thanks for the pics. I'm working on my covers right now. I did mess up the pass. cover where the dip stick goes. I'll be fixing it soon though. I do have a question for you though. Why do you have the heat shield tape on the back side?

Thats added protection so the paint won't bubble up because of the heat.

Thanks I didn't think about putting that on the back of mine. I guess I'll do that just to be safe
