I pick up the Meguiars DA Buffer kit at the world of wheels car show this past weekend. The best 250 bucks I have ever spent I also got a lot of free stuff too. A moron can polish my black car and make it look good. My car has never looked this good since it had 3 miles on the odometer. Out of 1-5 I give the PC DA polisher a 5!!!

First I used the yellow pad w/ some kind of Meguairs cleaner wax? Step 1 out of 3 it came with the kit. then I used that beige colored pad with the Meguiars NXT I did half the frnt fender and it was CHERRY! You could see the difference my frinds were there and seen it too. now they all want to borrow the ****. I was like hell no! LOL 250 BUCKS I will charge a $20 rental fee atleast. Good **** though. The weather sucks here right now and the car is covered outside and on jacks waiting for a 9" install but as soon as weather gets nice I will try to post picks.

Just bought the 7424 and a few pads from Amazon for $119 (pads extra) I've been looking for awhile, but I keep chickening out as I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right product. This thread took the doubt out of my mind.

as long as you dont go and get some really abrasive polishes, then you should be fine. It takes a harsh polish to do some damage w/ a DA polisher.

Anyone ever do any damage with Menzerna Intinsive polish. I read the comparison chart, and it seems to be pretty abrasive for a polish.

I know it is not a rubbing compound, but anyone ever messed up a paint with manzerna + PC 7424???

haha, no, I worked my front passenger fender for over an hour with an orange pad and settings at 4-5 w/ IP and did no damage.

Thanks,

From what I have read, it is virtually impossible to do any damage with the 7424. As soon as I can save up a little $$$.. I will try menzerna's entire line.

there are more options than the IP and FP now, I havent read too much on them, but several different inbetweens and finer and more abrasives..

I kind of in a yoyo effect with the FMJ though, sometimes it looks good, then sometimes after a QD it will haze up... kinda weird..

I'm not Brandon, but I'd like to take a stab at this one. I haven't used FMJ personally, but I have used Zaino and Blackfire. On NBM, I LOVE the way Blackfire looks, especially when used with the companion gloss spray. Zaino (applied Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6) works well also, but I just feel like Blackfire gives the paint a "truer blue" than Zaino. Just my opinion.

These are some pics of my car from last weekend's photo shoot with a fresh coat of Blackfire. No close-ups, but I might take some tomorrow, weahter permitting.

I have souveran. looks fantastic on black but, doesn't last long even on my garage queen. can only imagine it's life expectancy on something driven everyday. i will use something else after the can is used up (1-3 yrs from now)
oh, for those who don't know. souveran has zero abraisives in it. this is just wax....

not going to say it's impossible but, i used it with power and an agressive pad
great results. no swirls. just use some common sense and see what the paint will take..
note: even after the IP my paint was somewhat shiny kinda like a couple week old wax job or something...

I've always read that its pretty much for a garage queen/car show type wax, no protection, but looks completely badass. Pretty pricey too!

uhm people besides myself have had good luck with wolfgang and menzerna FMJ. Those i have/still use, but it doesnt last long to me.
Meguiars NXT would be good from what i've heard, aswell as Tropicare products.

btw BIRDS SUCK! I had last applied fmj about 3 weeks ago, bird **** on for like 24hrs at most, and my paint looks like holy hell now..

Zaino is very durable, with Blackfire a close second. When I want a little extra protection, I'll put a coat or two of Meguiars #26 on top of Blackfire.

Ah, didn't picture those. I used the green pad with Sonus SFX, Blue pad with Klasse AIO, and then put Sealant Glaze by hand, and used a blue foam grip with black foam pad applicator that I got from autopia-carcare a long time ago to apply Meguiar's Gold Class wax.
