Im the new Tech Editor at Popular Hot Rodding Magazine!
#29
Thanks everyone.. My home computer is under construction so I have to respond here at work.
Yes, PHR will be my full time gig. The pay they offered was actually more than I expected and the benefits are GREAT. My current job offered me more $$ and a nicer office but the owner is a car guy and knows that this new job is about more than that.
I will be responsible for all articles that are not feature related. So anything involving a new product, install, technical theory and such. I am really more like a reporter as one a topic is picked I will have to call around, interview people and write a story on "x". PHR has been around for 40 years and I am filling some big shoes. I have to admit that it's a bit nerve racking to go into but I am sure that I will get in the groove and be a good addition to the team. Go find an old issue and look in the front of the mag where the list all the people involved. This is a LOT of responsibility but you need to go outside your comfort zone and take challenges in life.
So I am going to try and grab the brass ring. I may end up on my face in the dirt or I might actually grab that bitch and make it mine, either way I will know that I took the chance. As they say "fortune favors the bold".
Thanks for all the congrats guys and go easy on my first few articles

So go figure huh? I was not in my plan but how could I pass up the chance to mess with cars and get paid for it. If anyone has an old issue of PHR then you can look for Scott Parkhurst since that is who I am replacing.
My first day is January 31st. I am so excited I could explode!
And a note to Mark IXZD150 -- YOUR CAR IS MINE FOR A FEATURE!!
This killed my photo shoot for the cover of Super Chevy since my new boss (Johnny Hunkins, Editor) said that if he hires me then he gets my car as well!
I have a feeling the SEMA is gonna be a much different experience next year
