Progress pics of my tailpanel
So I finally got around to taking it off today since it reached over 32* outside. I had always wanted to paint it satin black like the berger camaros, and I have a large '69 Z/28 emblem that I wanted to put right in the center, so Im trying my hand at a little body work. I used 400grit sandpaper on the whole panel, inside the letters, and on top. I did about 3 layers of bondo, letting each layer dry completely before applying the next. 4th time around I just spotted bondo wherever there looked like it needed some. Then I sanded it down with 320 grit till it was smooth and flush with the rest of the panel. Tomorrow I start the primer and painting process. more pics to come.

Pics of the 'almost' finished product. I still need to go over the CAMARO one more time with some bondo, resand it, primer and paint it. Nobody told me body work took this much patience, lol

maybe some of you guys that know body work can answer this. How do you fix filled holes from showing through when you paint them black. I filled in the Corvette letters on my FRC's and then i block sanded and painted it with filler primer. I then block sanded them again and put another layer of filler primer on. When i was done with that you could see any of the Corvette letters. I then painted it with Flat black. When they dried if i turned them the right way you could see the old out line of the Corvette letters. I've also seen people with cars that have been repainted and you could see where work had been done on the piece thats been painted black but the surface was smooth. Its like you could see through the paint in a way but the surface was smooth. Its only that way when you look at the piece at the right angle with the right light. Any suggestions. I'm wondering if that is why Ransom is redoing his.

bitviper- open your hatch, lift up the carpet covering the rear portion. You'll see 4 10mm nut/washers, and 4 little plastic things. Twist the 4 plastic pieces to remove the taillights, and the 4 10mm nuts and the whole panel just comes right off.
