Chrome Alternator?

Chrome Alternator?
Going with a QMP kit and I need a chrome alternator that looks clean sitting up top. Everything up top is painted and powdercoated so the factory steel alt. won't do. If I can't buy one can I have mine done? Where are approx. $$ ? Thanks- Mike W.

Just save yourself some money and polish yours. I don't think too much chrome in the engine bay is a good thing, especially if it's on a car that's driven frequently.

im in the process of polishing mine right now and truth be told it doesnt take all that long to do. sure it takes a couple of hours but it is for sure better then spending a couple hundred on a chrome alternator.

Sounds like polishing will be better and cheaper then. I was hoping to stay away from it because of the upkeep. The only thing I need to do now is learn how to polish. Todd, how much will you charge me to polish my alternator? I'll pay shipping to and from of course. Either that or someone tell me how to polish, what to use, tools, materials, polishing agents??? It's not hard even with all of those vents?

Sorry I do not polish on the side. Just keep it a hobby so I do not start hating polishing, sorry.
