Colored cotton is bad. Most all microfibers are colored.

The DF Concours Towels are the best microfiber towels I have ever used. They just keep getting better with every wash cycle.

Would the microfiber bonnet be suitable for both application and removal of polishes/waxes? Or is there something different used for application?

I've never had much luck with MF buffer bonnets to remove polishes. Seems like they need to be changed on every panel or so because they start to leave behind some residue and you end up going over the whole car by hand. I find it's just as quick and easy to apply and remove polishes by hand. Those deeper green towels work well for both applying and remove polishes. If you wanted to polish with the buffer a white finishing pad will work best but you still have to clean up with a towel.
