Question Polish or Ceramic Coat

I'm not an expert at this but can someone explain the two diffrent processes and tell me whats the diffrence and which one looks better and weighs less.

I'm in the process of having my Borla done.

Polish would wieght less than powder coat, but only in a minor amount. Powder Coat simplified is a durable paint. Polished is just that.

He said ceramic coat, not powdercoat, but I guess the same would hold true, since it is, in fact, a coating!

Polishing is basically shining the stainless to look like chrome, ceramic is more of a coating to insulate the metal to keep heat from dissipating from the metal. Headers, "Y" pipe are more commonly coated.

Ceramic will not look as good as polished and weigh a little more. Polished will look like chrome.

My Borla is polished...

Polishing looks better but ceramic coating is more durable and is less work. I have my LT1 intake manifold, water pump housing and alternator braket all ceramic coated along with my headers. If I had it to do over again though, I would have had my intake polished instead of coated, but I liked the way the it turned out. It defintely cools faster!
