paint I want to wetsand my trans am with the factory paint to remove the scratches and blemishes in the paint. My question is this something that can be done or is it a bad idea.
Yes it certainly can be done and i have done it to many factory paint jobs. I am assuming that you have never wet sanded and buffed out a car. A couple of things you might need to remember that it is a time consuming process and you have to be very careful how you go about it. Careful when wetsanding and make sure you dont catch any corners, just remember to sand only where you know the polisher can go and you wont have any problems. When im done wetsanding i go through 4 compounds from meguiars and use each one with a seperate pad. This is the most time consuming part and you have to be very careful when using the polisher to not catch a corner and burn the clear. definately a do-able job just need some patience. car will look better than new with hopefully less orange peel.

no thanks for the advice Ive never done anything this serious but I have a friend who is an extremely good body and paint man thats been doing for many years that will help me get started.
