It has a square cut opening when seen from straight ahead.

First off, JasonWW thank you so much for the information.. and second off, that car in the picture above is aweome. I dont know if that is your or not, but I just wanted to comment on it. Third off, So what company do you think I should go with for making the WS6 hood?

Semp3rFi, I have a black TA with the stock hood. The gold colored car I posted a pic of has the square cut openings that are on all of the Suncoast Creations hoods. I personally don't care for that style either.
Your best bet is to look around and see if anyone has a stock ram air hood for sale. The OEM ones are of very high quality. A friend of mine found a red SS hood for sale in a forum from someone who was going to a different style. He got it for like $500 I think and since both cars were red, he didn't have to repaint it. Maybe you will get lucky and find a great deal also, it's worth trying. Look in the forums of LS1.com, LS1tech.com and LS2.com. Also try e-bay. You never know when a good deal will come along.
My second choice would have been the US Exotics WS9 hood, but I think the guy making them, Roger, is focusing on Viper hoods at the moment. http://community.webshots.com/album/87942224rQjkyk
As far as currently available hoods, I can't say which is best. I believe the ASCD brand is a good one, but I'll let the other guys say what is currently the best choice in a good quality hood.

I think you are more right than you think. The HO grill inserts look exactly like the SLP Firehawk grill inserts. It looks like SLP used them on both hoods to save money from making a newly shaped grill insert.

The only aftermarket hoods I've liked are the Raptor and/or Firehawk hood. Its a little more low profile than stock and doesn't look like you have 4 scoops on the front.
To each his own though. Are the OEM hoods you can buy steel? I think the ones straight from the factory were. Everything else is fiberglass and sometimes theres fit issues with them, that's what prevented me from getting one. That and the $$$!

What is with the front center nose of the WS6 hood? Why did GM make the thing stick out and not match up to the bumper cover? My buddy just put one on his car and that part bothers the hell out of me! I like the firehawk hoods because they look cleaner in my opinion.

I think the WS6 sticks out only a tiny bit more than the flat hoods. From what I can tell, they designed it the best way they could.

I'm sure some of the dedicated SLP guys would know. I know I've read threads on these very specific topics.
