Removing the red "Firebird" emblem and words?
Rest the taillights on the bumper on towels.
Then start with the nail polish remover to get the rest of the faded paint off of it, so it doesn't clog up yer sandpaper. (Laquer thinner works also.)
Go to 1200, then 2000 grit wet-sand sandpaper, keeping it wet during sanding.
I actually start with a 1/4-sheet sander, then finish by hand.
Then polish with plastic polish until you reach a point where yer satisfied.
Here I use an old Black & Decker orbital polisher with Zaino's plastic polish. (I've tried other products, but nothing produces the same results as the Zaino.)
Works great, I've done dozen of them, ..., seriously, ..., dozens.
I buy used ones all the time, & put the work into'em to bring'em back.
