Good luck!
If they (SLP, or whomoever) are serious about this, then they cannot respond if an investigation is currently in progress. NOT trying to scare anyone, but just don't hold your breath!
Quite annoying, but WTF!
Reproduction of trademarked images is against the law no matter what you're doing with it. We all get away with it most of the time, but every once in a while someone gets made into an example.
Here's my point of view on the issue....say I illustrate a '68 Camaro for a client. They pay good money for a unique illustration of their car. I've received what I feel is fair payment for my work, so the client can do whatever they want with the illustration once they've paid for it. Now the people that steal those same images off my website are basically taking money out of my pocket. The illustration of the '68 Camaro was done to the client's specific tastes, and it's not drawn for anyone else or to mass produce as prints. The client owns the artwork, but I'm the rightful owner of the design. I'm protective of my work since I've spent many years and lots of money to perfect my skills and provide a quality product.
