Does cutting 1/2 a loop off a coil change the spring to an unsafe produce? No. Have the rates of the spring changed? Maybe by ever so much, but not enough to make the spring totally dangerous.
This is a time tested practice that has and will continue to be praticed by garage warriors to all out racers. Is it a task to be taken lighty, heck no, but it certainly does not deserve to be kyboshed. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the pics. Xsta, Teri, and Ken's cars all look especially nice. As I'm on a budget, I went for the budget minded setup. I had some BMR rear springs from a previous setup, so I bought some front springs to go with those and I'm going to give this a shot. If it doesn't sit well, I'll put the stock rear springs in with the isolator removed for a more raked look, then start saving up for some four corner coilovers so I wont have to deal with all of this again.

FYI, those of you with 2000+ model SS and Firehawks, you have the Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension, which did not come with the SLP/eibachs. They have different spring rates and the SLP/eibachs are black in color, where as the Bilsten Ultra Performance springs are blue.
