Default Bulbs?

Put the clear side markers on today but they didn't come with any bulbs. I just left the factory ones in there but they light up clear at night. Is this legal? I really don't like the look of them lit up clear at night with the tail lights red. It just throws the look off. Does anyone have a part# they could give me so I could put the red bulbs back in? Need a part# for some that are going to be dark red because I have a feeling just plain red is going to be some what pink. I know the clear corners that I ordered come with bulbs but I haven't received them yet. Still waiting for them to come in but trying to take care of the rear side markers until then.

I sold my SS, but I have been messing around with LED bulbs in my acura.

You can buy some red LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com, if you want to keep them red.

You can buy whatever color you really want actually.

I put white LED bulbs in my front clear corners and parking lights on my acura. Looks very nice.

You WILL need load resistors PER turn signal if you go the LED route. They are very easy to hook up and come with the quick splicers. Good luck!

Are there any other bulbs besides LED bulbs that will work?

LED is the way to go. I put LED's in every socket except my headlights. You shouldn't need load resistors if you install electronic flashers. 2 of them. One for turn signals, one for flashers. superbrightleds.com is the place where I buy all of mine. I have, however, put the new refracting LED's in my turn signals. They have a total of like 25 LED's in them, including 6 or 7 that actually shoot sideways from the bulb. I purchased those refracting bulbs from Velocity leds on ebay

Better check your state laws.. In most states it is not legal to run anything but the red rear and yellow front.

In all states you have to run red in the rear, yellow in the front. Any regular buld will start red and end up pink, might as well spring for the LED's its worth it, O and the bulb # is 194. Heres a link for all of them http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

Does anyone have any install instructions or photos on how to wire these for the resistors? Thats why I'm trying to avoid these because I don't know much about wiring. Any help would be appreciated!

Like I said before, you don't need resistors. I forgot what the part number is, but all you have to do is buy 2 electronically switching turn/hazard flasher (underneath your dash) Replace the electronic flasher's for the the old relays under your dash. They're a pain to find, but all you have to do is turn your turn/hazards on and listen for the relay. That's all I did and haven't had any problems yet.

This is the right way to do it bro. I dont like using the resistors, they can heat up and cause possible damage. Thats why GM uses Electronic flashers in the Caddies. I know the ones mentioned have a heat sink built on them but If you are not comfortable with wiring just swap the Flasher, easier and easy to revert back to.

You dont need resistors if you by pre-made LED drop-in units to replace the bulbs. You do need resistors if you make the LED units yourself. Either way you'll need to replace both flashers (turn signal and hazard) with electronic flashers. I think the model you can find at AutoZone and PepBoys it Trident EL-12.

Thanks for all your info! Just got 194 bulbs from Auto Zone today and they look perfect at night with the tail lights. I thought they would have a pinkish look but they don't! Thanks again!
