I have sort of the same thing as those hyper whites but not as... "hyper" and it gets annoying as hell driving at night with them on. 99% of the time I have them turned down to half brightness. It still has the same hyper white background but a lot less obtrusive glow... might want to take that into consideration for night driving.

Mine aren't as bright as they appear on the pic. I set my camera to a bulb exposure of about 40 seconds to make sure that every bit of light was recorded by the digital sensor. Mine don't annoy me at all.
