Making Lambo Doors
My father owns a stainless steal fabrication company and i was wondering if it would be possible to make lambo doors..I was wondering what kind of springs they use and if anyone had a good picture of the bracket they use..I dont see this being too difficult of a task for a mechanically inclined person..Any i deas or anyhting, im not sure if ill actually do it just kinna curious to see if its possible. thanks

i'll see if i can dig up some pics i had on a z06 with lambo doors.. there was one website which i will have to search for that had an actually picture of the bracket... i'll get back to you.. oh and searching wouldn't have done a goddamn thing for this

back on topic...Ive seen places that sell these kits for 2,000 to 8,000 but when you look at the list of what is included, that price is ridiculous. Gas springs dont cost near that amount neither should a steel bracket. I see a website that gives you plans www.lambolook.com i think is what its called but I am not sure if its a scam or what.

There were some people who'd expressed interest in 'Lambo door' kits for f-bodies before, but haven't wanted to try them because of the high price... if you can manage to make something that works well, you might be able to sell a few

On a more on-topic related note, our cars do have awfully heavy and awfully long doors. Pulling this off would be quite a task. Personally I think the conventional style door opening is perfect for these cars, but as with anything, I understand the want to get a little more creative. At any rate, whatever you do, do it 100%, because with as big as our doors are, you're getting into a very big task.
