Default Polishing calipers

Has anyone tried to polish their stock calipers? (98-02 TA)

Several people here have done this. Last person i can remember was LS1 Sounds. Do a search in here, and I'm sure you'll find the thread about it.

I didnt polish mine but did take a wire wheel kto them....they came out looking pretty good..not a highg sheen but shiny and clean...

good write up but they stoped at 400 grit paper. wouldn't it still need to be done with finer girt paper to get a nice smooth finish? When I did the outside of my MAF housing I went up to 1000 before it looked good.

I went all the way to 1000 grit on my calipers. Then used Mother's aluminum polish.

Thats what I wanted to know. I would think stopping at 400 would leave scratches and wouldn't polish up as well

I didn't follow that write up. I used my drill and a 3" pad to do all my work. Started with a 80 grit, then a 300, 500, 1200, and polished them out with a Trizact 3000 grit pad. Took about an hour per each caliper.
