Default Camaro w/ no grille??

I was wondering if anyone has cut their entire grille out of an LS1 Camaro. Im not talking about just taking the factory plastic grille out, but cutting the center part that says "CAMARO" behind the factory grille out so it is just a wide hole. Im not doing it just for ***** and giggles, I want to get more air to my IC, and it looks good on a Trans am, so i thought it would look good on a camaro, but I dont know.

well what if i did exactly that. cut it out and put a billet grille over it? i already have a billet grille, that way it gets plenty of airflow and it still looks good

that would look badass man. Max airflow and the billet grille to boot.

As in all things..its in the execution...

Zangle..it looks great!

I would even consider placing some rain gutter mesh behind the body facia to hide it a bit more but stil allow air to pass thru....and to gaurd aginst rocks..only takes one rock to ruin your day!

no idea, i posted a thread a while ago around here asking what people did to their front ends with FMIC's. I can tell by looking at it, its an SLP grille, the guy cut out the standard camaro grille behind it, and then cut out the lines into the slp grille. you know who of NON_SPONSOR q.m.p did something similar to his turbo z28.

Is there such a thing as too much surface area of an intercooler exposed to direct airflow? Thought I heard something about this with Supras...Can anyone confirm. My front end will sport a FMIC one day.

only way i could see to much exposed FMIC would be all the air pushing against it bending the mounts or something. we have a pointy nose on our car, cut it out and replace it with a flat peice...you get the idea. supra's basically just stick their FMIC right out their, so they are getting a smaller version of mack truck action due to the flat nose. i dont think that could ever really be much of a problem...but thats the only problem i could see stemming from it.

I like the way that looks, but I'd be too worried about a rock taking out my radiator. I'm not a big fan of billit grills, so I'd put some black plastic gutter guard mesh behind the holes.
