Default Engine Bay hose accents

Rice or Nice?

I'm thinking about dressing up my engine bay a little bit by replacing some of the black dirty/faded hoses covering up all the wires. I was thinking about a chrome color to match my exterior chrome accents or red to match the body color. But I have yet to come to the conclusion if this simple mod looks ricey by too much flash or color.

Let me know your opinion

most people are going to tell you to hide as much as possible, not show it off.

I kinda like the colored hoses. Chrome is a bit much for wire covering IMO, but some on here have done it well. I'd go red.

True, hide it, don't make it even more visible, ...

IMO, colored tubing & wiring covers, too ricey, ...,

I had red wire loom on all my stuff for awhile but got tired of it. I went back to the stock black and it looks much better. I agree, try to hide as much of it as possible.

I've got red split-loom on all my underhood wiring. I've had it on there for about four years, and I have yet to grow tired of it.

More pics on my site.

I'm of the mindset that hiding the wires is better...I'm going to do the !wire mod and try to reroute and hide as many wires, etc. as I can...IMHO less is best...

Black loom doesn't detract from the motor, which should be the first thing someone notices under the hood, not colored loom.

Is there anything that looks like braided stainless that will slip over the hoses?

There is, but unless it's done exactly right it tends to look terrible.

As for the loom....if you're not going to hide the wires than stay with the black as it won't show up as much and looks better IMHO. I bought blue loom to do mine, but than decided against it cause it would have looked to "ricey" to me after seeing it layed over the wires.
