Default Pictues of engine compartment and undercarriage restoration.

Well, I finally got my car to drive and perform the way I wanted it to, so it was time for disassembly and restoration to make the car nice.

It was heavily undercoated when I bought it, and I removed all of the undercoating from the floors, as well as the factory undercoating from the inner fenders and rocker panels. I did this with a propane torch and paint scraper, followed up by various wire wheels and grinders. I also had to cut out the subframe connectors to get at everything.

After all the undercoating/etc was removed, I had to sand out the remaining scratches from front to rear.

After this was done, the car as masked off, and primed with etching primer, then primer/surfacer. The primer/surfacer was then sanded, re-seam sealed everything, and then painted with Dupont chromabase and then clearcoat.

I probably have around 100 hours into this project (not including disassembly of the car).

Just this weekend alone I spent about 35 hours on it.

At least now it's time for re-assembly. I have most of the suspension parts, and exhaust, etc, in my basement allready powdercoated.

Should have a few more pics later.

I'm envious. The underside of your car is cleaner and shinnier than the top side of mine.
