Im sure a good set of harness and either a 4 point cage or harness bar would help you alot more than a damn airbag.

I guess some people are illiterate. I don't mind people taking out their air bag if they are going to make their car safer. But taking it out and not doing anything is plain stupid in my book.

Switching out the steering wheel is not a mod that should be done alone. Don't take away safety without adding safety. There are ways that you can make your look much better and it will actually be much safer it came out of the factory.

Lets just get some pics on here.

I notice all the pics of cars in this thread appear to be strip-only cars. I agree that if you drive it around town you really shouldn't yank the airbag.

J/K
Those were just some pics I took of the carbon fiber guage panel I cut out. I'm going to put a few guages in that carbon fiber panel.

Im not sure how often Speed Inc (the last pic I posted) drives their car, but that is a street car. Altho the AC and ABS have also been removed, its still a street car and legal to drive for their area.

I think some of you boys would be shocked at at how many of us cruise the streets and daily drive with no airbags, front impact bar, side impact bars, ABS, and god forbid we drive with no front sway bar and 15x3.5 "race only" wheels. I'm sure anyone looking to remove their airbags knows the risk involved so why try and tell him he's wrong to be doing it. If the guy posted about wanting to buy a motorcycle, would you call him a ******* idiot and convince him it's to dangerous for him?

Hey Dope, how'd that T/A interior make it's way into your Z28. I never noticed it before, looks cool.

One valid point I haven't thought about until now is what are you going to do if you sell the car? Parinoid people like myself won't touch your car with a 10 foot pole. If you do reinstall the airbag, you damn better be sure it works considering how sue-happy people are in this country. Not to mention the guilt trip you'd be going on if somebody got hurt or died from you improperly reinstalling the airbag. If you are going to turn it into a drag car, I don't think this would be an issue though.

Now I've made my point and spoken my peace. If you want to keep on flaming me, fine. I'm not going to say another damn thing about safety. I don't think that MonsterLS1 would like us to turn his thread into a flaming pile of **** though. All I wanted to do was make sure MonsterLS1 had thought this thing through and weighed the pro's and con's.

I think some of you drivers have some blind faith for that airbag. Most of the carcrashes in the front end use to be your own fault. If a carcrash is all you think about then you are driving, be more worry about that plastic door beside you. Can you buy steering wheel with airbag to old camaros in US?

hey saturnus, have you erver been in a major car accident? i know you may lie and say yes, but i was just wondering since you have no airbag and no rollcage it looks like. i would also be willing to bet if you got in one you would change your mind
