Default Camaro Rear Fill in Questions

I am interseted in filling in the word CAMARO on my 2002 Z28. I would like to know how much you paid or think I should pay to have it filled in and painted Onyx Black. What did you use to fill in the letters, bondo? How difficult would it be for me to fill it in and prep it for paint myself? What all would be involved in prepping the paint for the filler? And whatever else you think would be helpful in this task. Thanks

im pretty sure that if you sanded it and bondoed the camaro letters and smoothed it out it would only cost about $200, thats if u did the prep yourself.

It took about three layers of Bondo, a little primer in between to see where we needed to sand down, and some paint. My friend did mine in a day or so and we slapped on my car clubs name on the back!!! Paint it yourself, it takes a can of semi gloss black and some clear coats and you are good to go!!! If all else fails, buy a another back panel and do it yourself so that you can have the original so you can put it back to stock. $20, is all it took and I wanted to make mine look different because everyone has there rear filled in with vinyl or "stainless fill-ins".

If I were doing that, I'd also have the keyhole filled in. You could also put a different Z/28 badge on there square in the middle, instead of putting it under the tailight. I would go with the old classic Z/28 with the slash that they used on the 1969 cars.

I did mine myself in the garage, with some filler form the local auto parts store......Although I did mine flat black, you could probably have it painted onyx black for less than $50 somewhere...

Here you go. I just put on the RK sport letters on this weekend. Very easy to put on. They come out and sit flush. They are black. Enjoy.
