Default Lowering springs with 17s

I've done some searching but haven't come up with a good answer yet. How much of a drop would make 17s fill the fender the best? I'm thinking about dropping it about 1 inch but hoping it won't still look like a 4x4.

I've thought about more than 1 inch, but with the LT's and TSP true duals that may be an issue.

TIA

I'm planning on lowering mine an inch too and also running 17's. So far i'm leaning towards BMR or Hotchkis.

I read all the time this isn't a good way of doing it, but I disagree 100% I have a professional cut the springs on all my cars. ((I have some heavy ones even like a 95 Impala SS)) I get the springs cut after I get my exhaust work done. I got my car lowered about 1.5" Clearance isn't a issue! The springs with the missing coil makes them tighter and stiffer.

I have Bilstein shocks and springs. 1.25 in. lower in front, and 1.5 in. lower in the rear. I have Lt's and 17's and have NO clearance issues whatsoever.

Nice ride man, looks damn good.

Thanks to everyone for their responses, I had the BMR's in mind as I have heard good things about them as well. I'll probably in the near future ditch the dumps as well and go with some Sweet Thunders out the back, hopefully htat'll clear up any clearance issues. Thanks again.

I currently have LTs and an ORY, along with 17s. When I lower mine in the near future, I'm going to be going with BMR springs. They lower the car to a nice level, but it isn't too low to the point where I'll have to worry about clearance.

I should of been clearer, I went about 1.25 on the front and 1.5 on the rear when I got the springs cut. i honestly have to say IMHO I like the ride quality 10x better with the spring rate so much tighter then many aftermarket setups. My cars going into the paint booth real soon and Ill post pics when I can.

I had the hypercoils with koni/bilstein combo and I had 17x9.5 TT2's all the way around and never had a clearance problem. Right now I have Hal's all the way around with stock springs in the back and have sinced switched to 11's in the back, I want to lower mine also, but don't want a clearance problems with the 315's in the back, right now I don't have any problems with em, oh well.

Ditto on the HyperCo springs with bilsteins. About 1 1/2" drop. Not too bad. I think it sits fine. ZR1's (17 X 9, I believe) and BFG G-Force KD's.

BEFORE (before I fixed it, too)
