Default My car just got keyed

I wake up this morning go outr to start my car and I notice along the entire drivers side of my yellow 67 Camaro a big a$$ wavy line running along the side. Apparently some SOB had the nerve ro key my car. Is there anything I can do? I have full coverage on my car but I doubt Mercury Insurance would cover vadalism. Do you guys have any suggestions? Theres no way I'm just gonna let this go.

Insurance SHOULD cover it, but I wouldn't think getting it repaired would cost much more than your deductible ( if it's higher than 250 )...

Sorry to hear it...

It is a shame to hear that man, people cant stand that you have what they want. jealousy is a terrible thing. I know that if you have full coverage you should be able to get that covered under insurance. I hope you have seen sQuashed's thread about his stolen SS and be thankful that your problem can be fixed pretty easily. It still is no fun to deal with. Good Luck

Usually that falls under the "uninsured motorist" coverage. You will have to pay your deductible. My car got dinged really bad once, enough to crack the paint, I called and that's what I was told.

My prior car was keyed both sides up and down and across the trunk.. 1600$ of damage.. insurance paid the whole bill with exception of my 200$ comprehensive deductible...

The keying is damaged caused by something 'hitting' your car, or damage that for me (at the time, Allstate) classified in the same category as hitting a deer. Since it is not at fault of the driver, it doesn't go on your 'insurance' record since no police report was made against you. Again, this was how it worked out for me in CT in 2003.. hope all works out for you. I'd definately call your insurance.

This must be some kind of fad, maybe the ricers we keep blowing away because they got me about a month ago I let my bird out of sight at a store,( which I never do I am always watching it), and they got me too ! The whole pass side has a key line from the front wheel well to the rear well .

When I first read that, I thought it said "with the previous owner's permission".

I had my 00 SS keyed from both front fenders through the doors in the Fiberglass and in the rear quarters and all over my hood. The worst part was I had the car under storage insurance and I moved it to clean the garage so they wouldnt cover it since it was parked in the street. Atleast you can get it covered. I ended up having to pay for my whole car to get redone.

Today I got word that they would cover all damages up to 3000$. Then I told them it was a custom paint job and they agreed to cover up to 3500$ instead. I just have to find a shop around here that does high quality work. Now I have to decide on what color to go with...

I'm thinking to stay with my yellow with black stripes scheme, but I'm open to any suggestions, especially if you have pics.

Heres a few of the original pics of the car the last one being the latest one...

I think if we just kill everyone that doesnt own an f-body we wont have to worry about our cars getting keyed. Plus gas prices will probably get lower too. .... just another one of my insane thoughts
