Default Sneak Peek (EDIT: New Pictures)

EDIT: New pictures uploaded, see below...

Click here for full bumper shot off the car...

Teaser shots...

Just a little sneak peek on the latest with the car. Doing a little accent work. My main inspiration was to get this painted black to hide the fact that I dont have tips back there (TDs w/ dumps). The black does a much better job of hiding this than the factory red did. I've got a few small detailing things to do, and I am waiting on the PONTIAC rear fill ins to come in, but the front plate bird and the blackbird stripes are on so the car is well on it's way. The more and more I look at it though, the more and more I'm thinking about ditching the ROH Snyper wheels and getting some black ZR1s (affordable) to tie the black in together all around.

I think the CETA style accents look good. IMO i would keep the snypers, you are one of the few 4th gens i have seen with them. Plus I am not a fan of black wheels, dont mess with someone that works!

I do agree about the uniqueness of the Snypers, and unless I found a local buyer cost wouldn't justify a change, so it'll probably never happen, but it's still a thought and I'll see what kind of reaction the car gets. I do like black wheels though, and they would work on my car I believe. Just dont know if I want to make the swap. I also wouldn't mind some 315 Nittos in the back for the street so I can actually go WOT in 1st gear. I've got a friend with some black ZR1s I might throw on to see how it looks and go from there. I've also got some ideas for the Snypers like taping off the face and lip, and painting the insides of the spokes and the barrel of the rim black to kind of tie it all in more. I think thats what I'll probably end up doing.

I think painting the inside of the spokes and the barrel would look really good. I always liked the look of these wheels. Oh yeah, you can always get the wheels widened for 315's

Exactly what I was talking about doing with the Snypers. Shane on here did that to his when he had them and it looked great. I think it'll work very well with my current accents.

As for widening the wheels, it's a decision between new wheels that are already 11" in the back, widening these (I'd gladly do it if I could find a place that could do it right for a reasonable price, nowhere around here does though), and just running a shorter life, sticker tire on the rear (MT DRs). Still having trouble with that decision though.

Looking good man. I'd definitely keep the Snypers and paint the insides of the spoke black.

SEE FIRST POST :: Teaser pictures...

ritz, you are the MAN for that picture. They look so good right there. Looks like they also polished the face instead of leaving the machined finish. I'd really like to have that done also. Just strip the entire wheel, paint the inside black, and polish the face. I dont know anything about polishing though so I doubt I'd ever do it.

I'm diggin those shots too. Is there anyway you can get a picture of your gauges at night? I'm trying to do some different stuff on the inside of my car. Just some kinda subtle stuff and gague overlays have been on my mind.

Yeah I'm loving those Blackbird stripes. Those are honestly probably the only decals as far as stripes/overlays go that I'd put on my car.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely have to throw on my buddy's ZR1s to see how they look. I believe they are considerably lighter than the Snypers also so thats a plus. I do like the originality of mine though so I'll try my paint idea on them first and go from there.

ritz, I tried for a night shot but my camera just wont pick it up. It looks the exact same as stock at night. Obviously the transmission temperature gauge is there, and it is just edge lit around the entire circle of the gauge with the red boot that comes with the gauge, but it actually is more pale than the stock red, so I'm trying to figure out what to do about that (its more pinkish). Might get some Testors model car paint and paint the bulb red so light can shine through but it'll still maintain the color I want.

I LOVE the gloss black on the red. And the gauge looks awesome in that position; I wish I could put it there in my Z, but the Camaro interior obviously doesn't work with it.

As far as the wheels, I say have the inside of the spokes on yours done in black and polish or machine the face.
