Read before you write. I didn't say everything else was crap. I said Tamron, Tokina, and Quantaray were. I didn't tell him to buy L glass at all, i said i was upgrading to it. When i said go with Sigma or Canon...that doesn't mean 'drop a thousand on a lens'. The USM II and USM II IS lenses are a LOT better than that the previous listed and there's no sense in putting one of those first three to replace the lens that comes with it. You won't see much difference at all in picture clarity.
