Default Major Problem

Well i used the claybar and the z fusion , then z2 from zaino and all was well for a week. I decide to wash my car with dish soap ( i dont know if this matters) but after i dry it i find major "buff marks". I have a black car and at a certain angle i can see exactly the pattern of buff. NEED HELP ASAP !!!

did you push down on the claybar too hard? You are supposed to press very lightly and make sure the claybar is well lubricated when using one. Time to get a nice buffer and some swirl mark remover.

dish soap strips all the wax off down to the clear coat. I NEVER USE DISH SOAP. get a good wax and buffer and wax it in the shade after the paint cools down. here is some work i did on a black vette.

now im worried cuz i just did a friends forest green gmc pickup . Do u think the fact that i did wash it with the soap is that these marks became obvious ? Or would they still have showed.

well if you waxed it and then later on used dish soap to wash it you just striped all that wax off and need to rewax it right away. no mater what i never use dish soap i use turtle wax zip car soap.

btw useing dish soap to wash your car will leave swear mark's in the clear coat. they show up real nice under the lights at night. I won't use dish shop st all it's made to be aggressive for clean had to clean dishes.

yes, you can apply any of the Z products in any order. As for the dishsoap causing swirls........no. There is nothing in it to cause that in itself so most likely it was too much pressure claying or other contaminants or your pad. What kind did you use?

I think its the dishsoap because after i applied the soap it showed these swirl/buff marks horribley. Previous to this the car looked mint even after being in rain on/off for 4 days. I used a clay bar from zaino, then i used z-fusion , followed by z-2. This is what i dont get where the marks come from ?!?!?!?!?!?!

Back up. I don't think I've ever heard of Dawn CAUSING swirls. What you might be seeing are swirls that were masked by previous "polish" (I use this term loosely here, meaning the polishes that are actually glazes) or wax. More likely, whatever you used to DRY the car caused the swirls. It's likely the towels you used picked up some dirt and dragged it on your paint.

Unless you use the Bed Bath and Beyond/Crabtree and Evelyn/Bath and Bodyworks girly soap with the little fragrance crystals in it (like that Cool Citrus Basil crap my wife loves), soap doesn't have anything in it that can actually cause swirls.

I emailed zaino and he said the dawn soap could have probably caused these marks. Im going to be calling him later.

No no no. I wash my roof with that. I wash the rest with a mixture of bee's wax and virgin lamb's blood.

-Mike

PLEASE NOTE: I'm KIDDING. Don't wash your car with any of the above, then go screaming to the board "CHUPR0KABRA IS AN ******* BECAUSE HE TOLD ME TO DO THIS AND NOW I'VE GOT SWIRLS!" I'm an ******* for completely different reasons.
