Exclamation help t top conversion

well my car got hit so im taking advantage of situation and getting car completly repainted along with some other stuff but while im at it i want to know how hard it is to switch out the old hard top for some t tops and assuming its easy what all i need to do so any help is apreciated. unfortunatly im on time constraint cus work starts on car soon. but even if i just dont paint old roof and get the t top roof bar painted to be installed later that would be cool i just want to know before i go through all the trouble

yeah you should have gotten it with the T-top in the begining, and sides hardtops are better for drag racing/autocross racing eliminates alot of body flex, that and hardtops are not as common on the GOOD cars, they are on the v6er's

Which ever way, just remember to have some support on the front half to the back half, or else it'll cave in, not like V shaped cave in, but cave in that it'll be off enough to look wrong.

from what ive heard the hardtop being stronger is just a myth... Do a search and Im sure it has been debated alot but I am not exactly sure a hardtop is stronger than t-tops cuz i think i remember reading... the hard tops had the same strusture as the t-top just with a metal where the glass would be for t-tops.

Yeah the t-top is not as stiff as the hardtops, i drove roughly 12 camaros, 8 being t-top and the rest hard tops, and everytime i went over speed bumps you could hear the body creaking and groning wit the t-tops, and when i went over the same area (was at a dealer test driving) the sounds were very little compaired to the t-top. But i will give you this, t-tops are bad *** when you look up and see teh sky

I'll just say this- my car has t-tops and I love them to death, but I hope that if you do this then you garage your car and dont ever plan on being in the rain because its gonna be a GUARANTEED leak.

2002 camaro, didn`t I refer you to this site from camaros.net? If so, you`ll see in there that I noted for you to do a search on here. It HAS already been done from a couple people on here and has been documented. All you have to do is hit the search button.

He makes it look simple, but unless you have experience doing these sort of things, I personally would let a body shop do it.
