Hey all,

I really like the looks of stripes on WS6's and I'm contemplating what color to do on mine. I have a black on black 02 and so far have only a couple exterior appearance mods (blue nostril lighting, mesh nostril covers, and keylock covers). I do have custom stitched headreasts (silver with blue accents) as seen here: (scroll down)

I was thinking a navy blue metallic but I've never seen it on a black WS6 before?

Real nice touch with the blue lights in the nostrils. I would go for ghost like stipes too. Or maybe even deep blue stripes.

 

Headrest look good. I also like the light in the hood. If in doubt, photoshop.

 

and friend has a NBM WS6 with black stripes and i can hardley see them. id go with a diff color, like torrid red. and swap in some red neon in the head rests. but then that goes against the blue in the headrests. but IMO it wont make a big diff since its only a lil blue.

 

Who did those headrests? They look friggen amazing.

Regarding the headrests, I designed them in photoshop and a friend of mine stitched them with his CNC embroidery machine. We used silver and of course royal blue.

Regarding the nostril lights, they are actually cold cathode tubes. I installed them a while back and didn't do a very good write up. However, another guy emailed me and I gave him specific instructions part numbers etc, and he did a great write up here (scroll down a bit):

Back to the stripes though....I don't think I'm up for red. It does look really good on a car if that's the theme you're after, but it just doesn't do it for me personally. I prefer a more subtle look. Does anyone have a good source pic to photoshop with? Something that has the front and the back stripes?

I'm really leaning towards either navy blue, royal blue, or silver. I know it's a personal thing but I think these colors would be more subtle than red.

If anyone's got good source pics, I'd really appreciate it!

i say silver stripes. I hate the color black on a car more than anything in the world, but if I was in your spot, I think a dark silver, or light silver would look cool as hell. Then get the PONTIAC in the back bumper silver. That would flow nicely.how hard is it to get the headrests off? im afraid of ripping the leather

i had silver on my black t/a and i have to say i didnt like it, i thought it was too showy, i have seen pics of the navy blue on black and i think it looks awesome IMO, im putting navy blue fender stripes on mine now. I like the ghost stripes look

It was pretty easy to get them off. I just let the car sit in the sun for a while to soften them up and then took my time. Getting them back on was a bit of a PITA though.

Just a point of clarification though, I'll be getting vinyl stripes not paint, unfortunately. I don't want to shell out that kind of cash for some stripes.

Might look into what options you have as far as colors on vinyl. I wanted to match my car with reverse scheme on my truck but I couldn't find anyone that could get SOM vinyl.

 

i think the blue ghost would be kinda cool, but you are going to be limited by the colors or vinyl avalible. nice car

My buddy owns a CNC graphics shop and he has about 300+ colors that he can get. Lots of shades of blue, silver, etc. SOM is a tough one to match though!

Gunmetal was another that I was considering. I was just worried that it might not show up at all. Not sure I want to be that subtle

I think I found a decent source pic so I'll do some playing around to see what I can come up with.

I have a red theme going on, but would be interested in gunmetal or something that doesn't show up as much.

does anybody have links to where you can buy the vinyl stripes?

are you talking about blackbird stripes by the way? thats what I'm thinking about getting...unless there are more options?

what will a set of these cost?
