Meguiars products are easy to put on and take off for 'novices' as are most other products you can pickup @ Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, Advance, Napa etc. And they're fairly cheap and easy to obtain.

Zaino, Mezerna, Clear Kote, Griots Garage etc waxes and polishs all look good but take some patience to get right and cost a lil bit to obtain.

"Best" is a subjective term of the user and can't be determined for you.

Are you concerned with beauty only, durability, etc.?

If "looks" is the most important and something you can get locally, you can't go wrong with Meguiars NXT, that's what I have been using for the past year and love it. You can get it pretty much anywhere too and that's a big plus to me.

P21S or S100 (basically the same as P21S, but marketed towards bikes...and half the price)
P21S
S100

I normally use a synthetic (recently switched to Tropicare from Zaino) as a bottom layer - for some added durability, then top with S100...

Wax
I use Pinnacle Soveran myself. They also have a wax for lighter colored cars also and is also cheaper. I use the proper steps and everything is easy after that. Main thing, use a very soft micro fiber cloth when removing wax, I know there's all kinds out there but softer the better and also remove the company tag from it, it's not micro fiber and could scratch the paint. Pinnacle is 100% carnauba unlike others, others are also good , but like you say, if you have the money (70 bucks) the results are magnificent. I'm not here to say which is better , and you know the others, but Pinnacle is the easiest to use, if I'm in a hurry under 30 minutes to do whole car. Put on wipe off, you really don't have to let dry. Everyone has their tricks. Just thought I'd through my .02 cents in. Where ever I go my car seems the shiniest and brightest of all regardless of what others use. Seems Pinnacle makes the car's paint luster more than shine.

It looks like a big piece of sticky tack that strips contaminents from the paint.

Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss, the best **** I've seen and used personally, leaves an amazing shine, so good, its Zaino....just zaino lasts longer.

Claybar, is used to remove things like tar off the paint of your car. Works pretty damn good too. Meguires, makes some good stuff. Check Murray's Autoparts, they have it there along with another brand that I haven't tried.

Default wax/polish

I have been using Turtle Wax 2001 Car Polish on my silver 99 now I have a black 01. After reading one thread I tried the Meguiers NXT wax......didn't like it so I have gone back to 2001 in the bright green bottle. It's a urethane car polish and leaves the best smoothest feeling shine and duribility I have found, besides it's cheap and easy to use. 2 things...I'm **** about my car and I live in Fla.

I've been using some Tropi-Care products lately. Kind of a Zaino knock-off. A little pricey, but pretty easy to use, and I get excellent results. If you're **** about your vehicles (like me), a lot of products do well because of the elbow grease!

If you have the money, get these...perfect for dark colored cars
Sonus 3 step polish (need DA buffer for best results)
Klasse All-in-one
Klasse Glaze
PS21 Wax
