Headliner can stay.

Basically, seats, carpet and any misc panels that may be in the way of the cage itself or will interfere with the install (i.e. melting plastic panels while welding, etc).

Headliner can stay, BUT if you leave it then you have to worry about gettin paint on it once the cage is welded in...

If you go with a bolt-in cage the install is strait forward. Just take your time when lining everythiing up. Investing a few bucks in a new 3/8" drill bit might help you with all those holes you are going to drill.

The biggest PITA for me was modifying the rear panels for the down bars. I went with the early design panels that didn't have provisions for speakers. I then drilled new holes for the down bars, and relocated my existing speakers to the rear section of the panel. I didn't like the idea of the down bars entering through the speaker grills.

Good Luck.

You don't even have to take out the center console and carpet. Just remove all the other panels, roll the two halfs of the carpet to the center of the car and duck tape them togethor. I would remove the headliner though to avoid damaging it when getting the main hoop in the car. It goes back real easy.

wolfe 6 point chormoly with removable center section. looks easy to get out of with the bent bars, at least i hope so. probably going to get screwy to weld it in as long as everybody thinks an ameture can do it. hes never done one but i would assume its pretty straight forward. any thoughts on that

Welding is welding, prep surfaces, weld, done. I'm confident Screwy can do it.

I have the wolf 6-point bolt in. Easy to put in and the same to get out of. I just drilled some holes in the speaker grills and it turned out fine for me. Good luck!
