Tittle says it all. Mine are kinda dirty, I am guessing the owner never cleaned them. I was thinking about the Meguiars NXT Metal Polish, but then, Im bias towards Meguiars products.

if they get real black, i sand them off with paper from about 600 grit to 2000 grit, then polish those puppys up! they almost look chrome!

What he said!

If they're bad, you'll need the sandpaper...otherwise, just the metal polish of your choice and some elbow grease...

Cool

Ok I guess I need to take some pics and post them up so I can get opinions on either sanding them down or just use a Metal polish

I do the same as 01350ss. Next time I do, I might spray them with clear to see if they might be easier to clean next time around.

Oddly enough, the Mother's Aluminum polish lasts for at least two weeks on my daily driven car...the tips look like that until the very end of the two week interval, and they turn a light brown. Then all it takes is 5 minutes to bring that back.

The car is also has full exhaust/no cats. I think I got lucky, because I see a lot of dirty CME tips on these cars.

Mother's Polish, about every 2 weeks. If you let them turn black, then you need sandpaper to clean them off.

I say use a Dremel, then polish. But then, I have a Corsa and mine are always pretty! (No Dremel required)

Yeah, turning them black is asking for sandpaper, but it really doesn't take much effort at all to get them back to new. Every two weeks with Mother's is what I like to call "preventative maintenance."

Is that NBM? Looks more blue than NBM, might just be the light. Either way very nice!!

As everyone else has been saying if it is black sand it, I tried polishing the black off and got it done but my arm was a wet noodle and it took a lot longer than it does just to sand then polish.

Like everyone has said - very fine sandpaper, metal polish of our choice, and elbow grease if you don't have a dremel or small buffing wheel on a cordless drill. Here is mine after polishing them:

I hit mine with a buffer and metal polish. Works for me.

I love CME posts.

I use steel wool. I hit it with some medium first and then again with fine steel wool.
