scratched glass?!
hey guys,
i just noticed after washing my car today, that on the back hatch, there are several scratches on the glass in one area. I don't know how the hell they got there.
can i take them to a dealer or something and have them patch it up? Since people can fix cracked windshields, i don't see why a couple scratches would be any different?

Try some rubbing compound. I know there are glass specific ones you can purchase online, but I will buff the front glass at the least when I go over the car. Takes the small scratchs from the wiper blades out, aswell as makes it 10x easier to see out of...
Get something 3m, or withouth carnuba's in it.
I would imagine a windshield repair place could do that for you, however, if you aren't interested in trying to do it yourself, call a detailer. Most highend detailers will do the glass for a small charge, and might be a little cheaper, and more careful with your car rather than a small crack repair shop.

ditto,
is this something i'm goina have to order online? and define small scratches, a couple of them, i think i can catch my finger nail in them. should I just take it to a detailer or glass shop? or try it myself first?

I have the same problem, I have some minor scratches on my windshield and on my t-top, not deep enough to really put my fingernail in, but it's noticable. Like a grey color for the scratches, not white like deep scratches

When you polish/buff a scratch out of a windsheild it will distort the drivers vision, Its a liability issue and most glass shops will not touch it.
I have found that RainX works great to enhance the appearance of glass.

yeah but it wont fix the scratches
it seems like the easy solution would be to take it to a glass shop or a dealer and just have them fill it in with whatever they fix cracked windshields with?
