Degrilled the SS
Been wanting an SLP SS grille (black/silver) so I decided to try the yank mod. I was already washing the car, so I figured WTF. I was a little skeptical at first, but everything I read said it was easy - Start with the sides, do the bottom, then the top. Popped right off within 30 seconds.
So here's the new look, for now anyway

Those lights are horrible. Not to get off topic, but have you thought about cleaning them up?? Look at the sticky, or p-m me. I also wanna get the SS grille, except in black/red outline. I love that grille.

One thing at a time guys.
Im waitin to find a weekend where Im not working and I actually dont have **** planned where I can clean the headlights, and do the Whistler mod. Thats just one thing on the list to clean up.
And B.W. if you're unsure you'll screw it up...you wont. I was thinking the same thing, and its easy as hell to do. The outter and lower tabs are easy to come off. The upper tabs take a bit more strength but they're still easy. Work your way from the outside to the bottom, then do the top. It'll take a minute to do - tops.

Im not worried about covering the foam. Ive got the SLP grille on order, as well as clear corners and clear side markers. So it'll be somewhat covered up here shortly.

does anyone know why GM decided to put that grille on in the first place? I mean it has the CAMARO letters behind it already? They should of just filled in the holes and called it a day.
Anyway it looks good

i was told that at high speeds (~125) the nose starts to pick up, and the grille actualy keeps the nose from lifting up and cracking paint.
i guess some guys on the boards had problems when they removed that piece from their drag cars, apparently it cracked their paint on the sides of the bumpers, they put the grille back in and it was fine...

Whaaaaaat? Really? Damn I didnt know that. Its still ugly though, youd think they would have come up with a better looking grille to put in there. The guy who designed the Asstek probably was who thought that ugly piece of plastic cladding would go well with the sleek lines of the car.
