I think it looks awsome, but I'm all about sleepers.

No badges, everything smooth and nice flowing, best looking imho

Here is what mine looks like, I love it! I'm probabably gonna blackout the 3rd brake light too but not sure how to go about doing that. To get the rear filler panel that smooth I undid my brakelights and pulled the center peice out and took it inside and wetsanded it with 2000 grit then 4000 grit sandpaper then polished it with some cheap plastic polish I picked up from Autozone.

Blackouts look great on dark cars, but a bit out of place on light cars. I have blackouts on the back of by 2001 Black Formula. No one's said anything bad about them. Another good thing about blackout covers is that they hide a shattered taillight. Mines been held together with clear tape for a year now, but you can't tell because the entire red lens is there and the cover hides it. I dont feel like paying $300 for a taillight. The covers only cost me $40 or $45. They are available from Autozone.

Here they are:

Here they are as a one-pice (it would me nice if someone actually made it)

(This is an edited image, the one-piece blackout is not real).

The blackouts are made by AutoVentShade (AVS). They are available at most auto parts stores for $40-$45. They might not be on the shelf (the Camaro ones usually are), but the store can order them (no shipping charge to you) and they'll be in in 3 days.

If you do decide to buy the AVS blackouts, you are better off buying them at a local auto parts store (as stated above), since some online stores seem to want $50-$60 plus shipping.

I have had blackouts on my Formula for 3years without any melting.

I removed the "AVS" logos with 3M FinesseIt-II.

Ya I got mine from Autozone and I just used a tad of fingernail polish remover to get the AVS logos off. My tailights are pretty scratched up so this made it look alot better. I blew the right one off at a car wash once onto the ground and it scuffed it up a bit but you can't tell from a couple feet away.

What should I buy or do to get the 3rd brake light blacked out?

Wet sanding and buffing can remove the light scratches on the covers and taillights.

I dont know of any cover for the third brake light. I think the only option is VHT Nightshades (its kind of a lens blackout paint/tint).

Actually, it does look kind of bad *** completely blacked out like that. I'm still gonna keep it the way it is but might be a good idea for someone else.

Oh and I use lots of Zaino, my car is ALWAYS shiny and clean looking

I think Blackouts only belong on Black cars or light cars like white and silver that already have black accents I think they look the worst on Navy

Does anyone have blackouts on a red T/A? I've got the black ZR-1 wheels and tinted windows, so I thought it might look cool.
