how much should paint cost..... i am going to get my 92 camaro painted.... it is maroon right now and i am either going to go black or with a lighter red.... the clear coat is flaking off right now, but i was just wondering how much a good paint job should run? i got an price of 2600 and thought that was alittle high.... any ideas???
I had my car re-painted. It was factory red, and i had it changed to BMW Carbon Black. IT cost me 12,000 for the whole thing. Included engine bay and a Rhino type coating under the body.

You must be rich...a good paint job will cost you like 6 thousand.

Factory paint job? I think factory jobs are the worste most of the time. Ever looked at a factory paint job? Orange peel from hell on at least %60 of the car. Some panels may be fine but others can be horrible. You can get a decent one (good enough for the average eye) for around 1500. Assuming you have no body work to be done, and your only doing exterior and inside the doors. It all deopends on what you expect the finished product to look like and how much your willing to pay. Paint shops are hit and miss. One may be top notch and the price will reflect. Others may not be so good and still charge a ton. Just find out as much as you can about were ever you take it. Preferably from previous customers. Nothing worse than blowing 2g's on a shitty paint job. Been there.
