I'm wanting to change mine too. Blu Beast, got any pics of yours? Anybody else have any cool ideas? I was thinking about a power retractable.

I just got mine the other day. Reception is great. It looks much better than the stocker. I got mine from pfyc.com for $30.

Cut your stock one down. I have a TA, and when I got it, the power antenna didnt work. I know how high they go, so I bought a manual one and put it on, and cut the antenna down. Here's a pic (dont hate TA guys, I've had terrible luck with power antennas even on past vehicles). Hope it is seen ok.

Is the Z06 shorty a GM item or aftermarket? Was a power antenna an option on f-bods?

I want to say the shorty antenna is an aftermarket piece, but maybe some of the latter C5s had shorty's factory. And power antenna's I believe was a Poncho option. There's a few writeup's floatin around on how to turn your car into a PA car, so just do a search and Im sure you'll find one.

that was the first thing i noticed when i bought my car, taht big *** antena, i unscrewed that how and left it off i still get decent reception so i wont be buying a antena or shortying it...i do however want to just get rid of it all completely and have it smothed out to make it smooth as a 19 y/o s behind! uhmm i mean

That's A damn good idea! It's too bad the antenna isn't built into the rear window. I wonder if it's possible to have that done?!?! It would look much better smoothed out for sure!
