Default Trans Am molded spoiler/bolt on spoler?

Hey guys im looking for a trans am hatch with spoiler for my firebird, and ive noticed that the salvage yards have some that are hatches with bolted on spoilers and hatches with molded on spoilers. From the sound of it, i can tell thje difference, but i wanted to make sure that both are okay. Is the molded one better, i would think so. Help me out here. Thanks

uh, It sounds like you are talking about a formula hatch(molded) and a T/A hatch...so it depends on what ur car is.

Well the yards are saying its a trans am hatch with a molded on spoiler, does that mean its not a high rise?

molded= non high rise (like what came on V6 birds & formulas (and vert T/A's)) The T/A hardtop & t-top wings bolt on.

Actually, the molded spoiler was used on some of the LT1 T/A's, and the high-rise spoiler was apparently an option through some of the earlier years. There is one Trans Am around here with a hardtop and the molded spoiler, in Green-Gray Metallic. I' ll bet not many of those cars exist. This one is unfortunately trashed.

I think the TAs came with the molded spoiler in 93-94... might have only been 93. There is a guy down the street from me with a 93 with the firebird spoiler.

You could be right, I really have no idea. Although since the aforementioned T/A is Green-Gray Metallic, that' s very possible. I know that color was available in 93-94, and maybe 95, but I' m not sure.

by 95 it was an automatic option, you had to specifically order with low rise which hardly any did. and by 96 it was an undeletable option.

I know some of the early LT1's had the molded ones, but I assumed he was talking about the LS1 cars (this is LS1tech ya know ) I had a friend who had a 94 with a high rise. He said it only came on the GT models that year.

I bought my 1994 T/A with the low rise spoiler, in 1993 and 1994 the Trans Am GT came with the high rise spoiler. I ended up buying the hatch with the high rise spoiler a few months later anyway. The molded one looks boring.
