Body Alignment???
I have 2 questions.
I have a 94 Camaro.
1st. On the front where the fender meets that plastic piece that looks like a fake parking light. How do you line the two pieces to eack other? (The pic is of the good side) I loosened all the fender bolts up but that did not do anything for adjustment.
2nd. I have a fiberglass bolt on cowl hood. The drivers side lines up nice with the fender. The passanger side drops down below the lip of the fender line about 1/2 an inch. I have adjusted this hood for going on 3 hours now and can't get it right. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Scott
- bend the front fender mount bracket around (underhood)
- elongate the holes in the bracket and/or fender
Those things should give you enough flexibility to make it work.
Judging from the one posted pic... it looks the middle bolt holes need elongated so you can push the mid section of the fender down more.
If anything is 1/2" off, something is wrong. It could be your hood (fiberglass hoods vary in quality/dimensional accuracy alot) or something else could be off. Could be a number of things. You just have to work with it and push/pull things around the best you can.
If the fender and front end align nicely, it is probably the hoods fault and you'll need to work with bending things/adding shims.
So you get in a hurry, loosen and make an adjustment - drop the hood, and realize you just scraped paint off your fender and/or hood.
It is also possible to damage the hood if the back hinges are too far out of nominal. They can be forward far enough for the back lip to catch when the hood is fully up. I had a shop do this when refinishing/realigning my SLP hood.
